Peanuts

The peanut is a species in the legume family. Some fun nick names that have been given to the peanut include ground-nut, earth-nut, goober-peas, monkey-nuts, and pig-nuts. The peanut plant is an annual herbaceous plant. After the pollination period, the fruit develops into a legume which forces its way into the ground to mature. It will have between 2 and 4 seeds.
